Protection Island Pool League
We broke ground in June of '94. We moved into our new home in January of '95. A new 9 foot Connelly Chiricahua with Artemis cushions was set up in April of that same year and in October, we began the first season of the Protection Island Pool League. The only balls that have been on the table are Aramith Super Pros, but the table has been recovered twice. It was originally covered with electric blue Simonis 860. I found the Simonis slow, but it wore very well. Next, it was recovered with green Hainsworth 90/10 worsted. It played very much like the Simonis and wore at about the same rate. The cloth that is presently on the table is green Granito Basalt. It is wearing a little faster because I think it is a little thinner which makes it play faster than the first two and I love that.
